Spectator Safety and Crowd Control
This qualification is for learners who wish to work as a steward within the Active Leisure and Learning sector. This may be at events such as sports, music festivals, concerts, parades or carnivals. Learners who gain this qualification will understand how to prepare for events, control the entry and exit of customers to the venue, identify and deal with crowd issues or problems and respond to emergency situations.
This qualification is suitable for learners aged 16 and above.
The qualification is made up of four mandatory units and is assessed through a portfolio of evidence.

• How stewards monitor crowds and respond to potential crowd problems

Assessment: Delegate portfolio of evidence/workbook
Duration: 40 hours split across separate visits to the workplace venue
